My Review-
Once again Ryan Gosling as proven that he is one of the best actors of his generation. It's still hard to believe he was in Remember the Titans. I have wanted to see this movie since watching the trailer in 2007, still find it hard to believe that it took me this long to watch it, maybe it was worth the wait, I am not too sure. This movie does a seem a bit strange at first but as it progresses you find yourself liking each character more and more, especially Lars' doll Bianca. Gosling does such an amazing job that as viewer you begin to see Bianca as Lars sees her as a real person and much like the towns people you begin enjoying seeing her, and wanting to talk to her. This movie is slow paced but it does so for a reason, it is like we are taking a journey with Lars from when he meets her to the end. And a long the way we meet different people that were effected by the doll Bianca. Each character that was in this movie had there share of the movie and were able to make the movie flow even better than it already was. Yes it was sad and it was also funny, and I agree with the critic above and that it helped explore the human emotions, and saying that no matter what anyone can fall in love. Even if it is with a doll, this movie was emotionally heartbreaking in some scenes and its all due to Gosling's performance that was worthy of his Golden Globe nomination. I am still surprised that he has not won an Academy Award yet. If you have not seen this movie, I highly recommend that you do so. It is worth the watch, and too see really good acting by all of the actors in this low budget indie film.
