My Review-

Well this was a good movie on a well known comedian of this time, in a way this is Carrey's second crowning performance, next to The Truman Show. Well I never really new what the real Kaufman was like or how he was when he did his type of comedy, Jim Carrey did a good job playing a real person that most likely influenced his career to be a comedian. After the movie was over, I went to YouTube to find clips of Kaufman that were recreated for the film, and after seeing those clips, I saw that Carrey in fact did a good job of portraying Kaufman. With this film they even got some of the original actors from the show Taxi to play themselves which I thought was pretty cool. In my opinion Jim Carrey needs to do more drama movies, because it can show that he can do more than just a comedy and act like a idiot. I like when comedians can show they can also do drama films such as this one. Once again one of the actors that were good in this movie was Paul Giamatti, even in a supporting role such as this one he can pull you in a like his character even though he is not on screen for the whole entire movie, another surprise from this movie was Courtney Love, who is known for being a little bit crazy is actually a good actress when she wants to be. However I did think this movie was a little to long for being a biopic, but that's just me. I found myself laughing and feeling the emotional scenes, because it did seem like Kaufman did have a hard life towards the end of his time. Jim Carrey seem to embody his protrayal for Kaufman which was called chameleonic performance, which will go down for me as one of his 2nd best films when he started to do more dramatic roles. Jim Carrey will be known for doing his comedy roles, but he should also be known for being able to make us laugh and cry at the same time, he needs to more roles like this one instead of the movies that bomb, such as Mr. Poppers Penguins. I believe that if Jim Carrey wanted too he can do a role so dramatic and moving it can earn him an Oscar Nomination. He just as to pick the right role, and he got close twice. with this movie. If you do not know who Andy Kaufman was or want to see Jim Carrey in a movie that most people probably do not know about watch this one, it will be worth it.
