My Review-
This is my new favorite horror movie. So now my two favorite horror movie's are from the same director, which is kind of cool the other being Halloween (1978). While watching I kept thinking to myself why did it take me so long to watch it? Even though it was a bit slow a first it picked up and I was into the movie the whole entire time, and the one thing I really liked about the movie was the practical effects that were in the movie starting with the dog and progressing throughout the movie. It took me a long time to realize that Keith David was in the film because I could not recognize him by his well known voice. For being made of the 80s it had really good special effects, none of that CGI that looks really fake at times, this was badass in camera special effects that made the movie even more awesome, another reason why I loved it so much is because of how it was a mystery movie at the same time. At times during the movie I was hoping that certain people would survive and be able to kick the alien's ass then my theories were shut down quickly. The movie was not too long and not too short it was just right to show everything that it wanted to in a horror movie, and at times I was freaking out at what was happening when they were in that small building. What also made this movie work for me and I'm agreeing with the critic above is that the whole movie was full of tension the very first time the monster appeared in the dog and I everyone was trying to keep a close eye on each other so they would not be next to turn into that monstrous thing. The design of the monster has been one of the best ones to come out of the 80s, and to have Kurt Russell go after it who was a badass back in the 80s and still is at times with the right movies that he chooses made the movie even cooler. There were so many other things that I liked about this movie, but I feel like if I keep talking about them this will go on and on and on, and by doing that it will be way too long. Just know now it is my new top favorite horror movie, and that list is not every long either.
