My Review-
I have always caught the ending of this movie, followed by bits and parts of it now that I have finally finished watching it, HOLY SHIT this movie was fucking awesome. There are some science fiction movies that really stand out for me; Star Wars, Moon, 2001, Sunshine, and now Alien. Even though I have seen the second and it is one of James Cameron's best films in my opinion nothing can be as good as the original directed wonderfully by Ridley Scott. This movie was one of those slow paced horror movies and it was done well because it built up to when they finally encountered the alien throughout the film. It was really cool to see all these actors in this film such as John Hurt, Ian Holm and Sigourney Weaver who are all today well known for other various films throughout their careers and to see the movie that possibly put them on the map was very cool to see. It is these times of movies like this that make you invest in the characters so much you do not want anything to happen to them and then it just rips your heart out when you find out their fate during the course of the film. Having finally watched this I can now go see Promethus and see how it ties into this film or if it even does that, This is one of those films that even though it did not need a sequel, the sequel was just as good as the first one, I guess now I have to watch Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection now too see how they all tie in together. I know most of you have already seen this movie and are shocked that I have never seen the whole thing, well now I have. Now if you have never seen it, go find it on TV and record it because it is really good.
