Well it is not as funny or as good as the first one it is still okay. This is solely based off of Eddie Murphy's comedic performance in this one. As a sequel I would have hoped it would have been a little better, but it is just a revenge story most of the time with some laughs thrown in here and there. I would have like to seen more from Eddie Murphy and what he was known for back then, but it seemed like he was holding back a little in some scenes that could have been a lot funnier than they already were. There were also some unanswered questions at the end of the movie, I had hoped to find out what happened. All in all it was kind of a disappointment.

Wasted my time with this movie. It was boring, it seemed longer than it was, Marlon Brando should have never done this movie. The movie try to be emotional but it just did not work. It was not worth my time to watch this movie, and I do not recommend watching it, Stay far away from it. And the best part of this movie was Val Kilmer and that's saying a lot about him.

This movie makes up for Will Ferrell's last film, Casa de Mi Padre which in my opinion he should have never done in the first place. In this movie he plays congressman Cam Brady, running unopposed until he does something extremely stupid. Enter Zach Galifianakis as Marty Huggins, who is the last person you would see run for congress but he is soon set to run against him by The Motch Brothers, however for their own personal gain played two very funny actors John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd and his father Brian Cox, who is just as funny as he was in Super Troopers maybe even funnier. To make Marty more appealing to the voters and reinvent him Lithgow and Akyroyd hire Tim Wattley played by McDermott who can do comedy really well, he was both very funny and intimidating especially when he would just pop up out of know where. I don't see why he doesn't do it more often: he was one of the actors made the movie even funnier than it already was. This movie is very funny right from the opening scene with Jason Sudeikis and Ferrell, it does slow down here and there for some sentimental moments or between certain characters, but some scenes that are shown in the trailer above are even funnier when seeing what leads up to it (the baby punching scene, and another scene where he punches something else). By far one of the funniest scenes I have seen in a long time is the dinner table scene with
Galifianakis and his family, funnier than it is shown to be in the trailer. The Debates scenes that are in the film also stand out since it goes back and forth between Brady and Huggins every other debate making the other one look stupid or having the voters switch sides. Another character that stood out was the maid that worked for Brian Cox's character for some ridiculous reason which you have to see this movie to know why, he makes her talk like black southern woman, even though that is not her ethinicity to begin with. Since this movie can be considered a political satire it does done very well by using some things that seem to always get politicians in trouble; affairs, money, and saying the wrong things, campaign ads using tactics to smear the person their running against (like the two pugs Huggins own are Chinese dogs and not American dogs), or even making them look like an idiot during debates. Ferrell and Galifianakis were able to play to their strengths along with Sudeikis and McDermott as their campaign managers. Since it is Ferrell and Galifianakis in the main roles, and they can be very funny when they want to, the comedy never really lets up with them. As the movie progresses some scenes become funnier than others, and at times almost had me in tears from laughing so hard. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and from all the movies that I have seen so far this year this has to be by far one of the funniest I have seen, and the funniest from either of these actors, except for Will Ferrell in Anchorman and Zach Galifanakis in The Hangover, those still be their funniest movies, but this is a one that I can add to my list from them. Out of most the political satires that have come out through the years this one is one of the funniest and more relevant for incidents that have happened in the most recent years. However there were some scenes that I thought did not really need to be in the film and really did not help it move along, one of them being a scene where Brady is having brunch with some potential people who will fund his campaign or a scene where Brady ends up seducing Huggins wife. Other than that this movie worth watching; it's very funny, the acting is and comedic timing is spot on with all the actors, and the movie is not too long. If you're looking for away to end your summer movie watching on a good note or just with a good comedy check this one out.

This movie was okay, I did enjoy some of it but not all of it. There some scenes that were better than others, well some just annoyed me a little. I will say this I did enjoy the scenes where Costner and Robbins were trying to communicate while playing baseball. Some scenes stood out more then others did for me, but for me I could not see the hype and how it is consider one of the great sports movies but hey that's just me. One of my favorite scenes were when all the players were explaining their problems and could not play until they were all solved. For me that was the highlight of the movie. It is shown throughout the whole movie from Costner and Sarandon in particular how much they love Baseball and it is shown in they way they both talk about it and show it. This is only my opinion on the film, I suggest you watch it so you can form your own.

I was really surprised on how good this movie was, it was a straight forward drama with little bits of comedy here and there. This movie is emotionally driven by all the actors in this movie. Since it was a drama some scenes almost had me on the verge tears and that was during the scenes with all the actors. One actor I really liked was Laurent, it was the second movie with her that I had seen with her, the other being Inglorious Basterds I really liked how she was able to show more of her acting skill then being really angry in her last movie. The comedy aspect was surprisingly between McGregor and his late father's dog. Had not seen many movies from Christopher Plummer, all I know is that he is supposed to be on of the greatest actors of our time. So when he finally won the Oscar for this film some were wondering why it took him so long to win, but while watching this I had time trying to figure out who should have won Best Supporting Actor; Nick Nolte for Warrior or Christopher Plummer for this movie, they both did superb in their films and I could pick who should have won in my opinion but I could not come to a conclusion for this. From what I read, this story is somewhat based on part of what the director Mills went through, and his father telling him that he was gay his whole life, and its done well with McGregor and Plummer, these two actors really make it seem like they are father and son and that their relationship is real. This movie would go up and down with some of the emotions, since it was told in flashbacks, one minute you would be laughing, then the next minute you would feel sad and happy for McGregor's character at the same time. This a movie that should not be missed for many reasons, Plummer's acting, McGregor is actually in a good movie again and the humor is done well to take the mood off some of the depressing parts. So this movie should be watched when you have the time and want to watch a movie that is really good.

If you have ever seen the trailer to this movie, it is kind of deceiving. This movie is nothing I expected it to be, it was totally different in a good way I really liked it. Some of my favorite scenes were when the narrator Richard E. Berendzen who is an actual American Scientist would come in a explained certain scenes, or he would explain certain ideas or quotes that would make us think at what was going on during that particular part of the movie which I thought was brilliant on the writers part. What made this movie stand out is that some of these people were not really big actors, they did not have a long list of movies to their name and they seemed genuine. Another thing I noticed When I saw the credits was that, the main character played wonderfully by Brit Marling was also the co-writer of the film and it seems like these two people Cahill and Marling know how to convey emotion between characters with very little dialogue, that's another thing that I liked about this film was that there was very little dialogue, when there was it was only between one or two characters spaced out throughout the film. It was a film that made you think as Berendzen said in the film; " In this case, there's another you out there." That was one of the main things that Marling's character had to deal with along with redemption for the horrible thing that she did, that maybe she would be able to change it, I have not seen many films with her, but I am glad that I started out with this one. With Mapother, once again I had never seen a movie with him. I had heard of him but never seen any of his work, but after seeing this movie I believe he should get more movies like this one so I can see more of his acting range. This movie also has little to no music put precisely in certain areas of the film to convey different emotions between the two characters. This is the type of movie that will make you think in a good way, and it is done in such an amazing way that every time Berendzen spoke I would go back to here what he said again, and I would that for most of the dialogue that he had. Yes it is a slow paced movie, but if it moved at a different speed I do not think it would have been as effective as it was. This another movie to add on the list of movies to watch because it is really worth it. Cahill and Marling bring a lot to the table with this low budget sci-fi film and in the end, in my opinion it pays off.

This is the third film from the Duplass brothers that I have reviewed; the others being The Puffy Chair and Jeff who Lives at Home, and out of all those I believe that this where they started to mature a little more, since this came out before Jeff who Lives at Home. I have been looking forward to watching this movie for sometime and now, and I was very pleased with the results after watching it. The thing is with the Duplass' they have a certain way of making a film of a style of filming that at times will make you enjoy the movie even more; such as scenes with the actors with dialogue that's off-screen and leads into the next, or subtle music very now and then and its not all over the movie, they use it when it is necessary in their films and this one of the reasons why I enjoy their films. They also tend to cast actors that at times you would not expect to portray a character like that. Such the case with Jonah Hill as the title character Cyrus, I believe that this was his first dramatic role before Moneyball, and he does drama quite well even if it is a little borderline creepy. While watching this movie I wanted to hit Jonah Hill, but then I came to realize that most likely what we did not see is that John C. Reilly's character was possibly the first person to ever come in between him and his mom, and upon seeing this he was afraid, him and his mom would get torn apart, hence Hill, trying to sabotage everything. This was really well acted by everyone including the supporting characters Keener and Walsh, who played characters who would come in every now and then and made the movie a little funnier when they were on screen. John C. Reilly seems to be taking more serious roles with a mix of comedy every now and then and it seems like he should be doing more of these types of films since he can pull off both. This one of the Duplass movies that should be seen along with two mention above so you can see what types of film makers these brothers are. At times the movie can be a little emotional and that is done all through the actors, they make their feelings for each other genuine and that something you do not see a lot in movies these days, it was not forced it was real. So yes I suggest you watch this movie when you do have the chance, and see what you thing about it.
