My Review-

Its now official, John Hawkes is my new favorite actor, I have liked him in the past with the movies he has been in, but this sealed it. This movie was kind of slow which was the only problem for me, but was very well acted by everyone in this movie especially Hawkes and Lawrence, and I could see why they both got nominated for Academy Awards in their respective categories. At times is was still weird to see some actors who normally play comedy roles in other movies or television, and then see them in this very depressing drama. When I first started watching this movie I did not know it was going to be so depressing throughout the whole entire thing. The whole movie was like on big mystery, and we were trying to find the answers the same time as Lawrence's character was, and just like her we were kept wondering what happened and why did no one want us to find out the truth. This movie shows just how dark a human being can be when some needs to be kept hidden and how far some people will go to hid the truth from the ones looking for it. One thing I could not get over was the acting and how good it was. For Lawrence's first movie as the leading role she owned every scene that she was in, until she shared screen time with John Hawkes, who has his share of some good supporting roles, but it seems like now he is taking on the more challenging ones and the ones that had more meaning behind the characters or to me roles that will show that he has a wider range of acting. At times I forgot it was a movie that I was watching the acting was so real and not forced, when it comes to these kinds of movies those are the ones that I like the movies when the acting does not seemed forced. The thing is I think it only works for drama's and not some much comedies. If you have not seen this movie, watch it I found it streaming on Netflix so it will be an easy watch, and hopefully you will like it as much as I did.
