My Review-
Nominated for 8 Academy Awards, including; Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Picture and Winning 5 of those 8 Oscars; "Kramer vs Kramer" tackled a controversial subject; a divorce and the resulting custody battle on their youngest child. This movie is wonderfully acted by Hoffman, Streep and then new comer Justin Henry, as the broken family and told from the husband and wife's side so it is not one sided in the movie. Even though its told not to be one sided, i found my self choosing a side during the movie, and it never changed. I can see why all 3 of the main characters were nominated for the respective categories especially with Justin Henry only being 7 years old at the time. Very well acted, and well written by the same person that wrote the book, even though i never read the book it seems like who ever produced it made the right choice by choosing the writer of the book to write the movie. This was the type of movie that does not come around so often tat you find yourself truly invested in right from the get go barely in the first 5 minutes into. from beginning to end I wanted to know what was going to happen to this family and what it took that made it end up like it did. If you have not seen an Oscar winning role from Hoffman or Streep I suggest that you start with this one, it is one enver to be forgotten..
